It takes inspiration from fantasy and is influenced by mythology from around the world as well as our own minds.
Our current story takes place in Azielan, an eastern-influenced continent.
Characters in the roleplay are in a guild with the aim of protecting and helping others.

Main events and roleplay will still take place on the server. This is only here to help with further character interaction and development for those who may care for such a thing.
It can be quite a trial to have certain interactions on a server without them getting lost in the fray due to the time concerns. This forum was made as a way to work around that! 😊

Two weeks had passed since the encounter with the horrific Wyrm beasts.
All was quiet on the Western Front; it was certainly a welcome lull in time.
Lehanna and Maya had stopped by Tirion City, an occasional stop from time to time whenever they were in need of supplies that couldn’t be found in Bridgeport, namely books… various books of all sorts, fiction and nonfiction alike. However, the Halfling did clearly have a favorite. It was made blatantly obvious as she walked out of a familiar bookstore with more than four copies of fantastical stories bundled up in her arms.
“These should do for a while.” Lehanna mentally announced to the dragoness as she finally made her way out of the city, carefully tucking the books away into a saddle bag placed at her side. The dragoness looked back at them somewhat curiously as she did so.
‘ For at least a year. ’ “Maybe.” ‘ Normally. ’ The girl couldn’t help but to snicker in response. The two then had their attention drawn out into the countryside before them where they heard the sound of distant, rolling thunder. One could see the dark clouds already creeping up and practically billowing over the grassy hills. Looked like quite the storm!
“Maybe we can beat it if—” ‘ We won’t make it in time. ’ The dragoness cut her proposition short calmly, looking just as put off by the circumstance as Lehanna was. “Ugh.”
Feeling some small measure of defeat, Lehanna then turned her focus back towards the city. Her eyes landed on some familiar looking stables she had made use of here and there in the past . Though some were clearly run of the mill, made for horses, some looked to be made to house something bigger. A vast city as Tirion was accustomed to such circumstances as these, thankfully.
Given little time to work with, Lehanna then walked with Maya back into the city, leading her as if she were a horse. Dragons weren’t that uncommon, but certainly attracted the attention of the locals anytime they were present. The few people that still scattered about the streets before the rain seemed almost taken with Maya. Some small children stopped and stared in awe as she and Lehanna crossed the path before them. They tugged at their parent’s/designated guardian’s sleeve and pointed in her general direction, announcing the obvious all like “look, mom! A freaking dragon!” Some big, toothy - and not so toothy - kiddy grins followed shortly after, of course. The dragoness felt a strange sense of flattery as well as endearment, remembering when Lehanna was that small for but a moment. She gave them a gentle stare, as gentle as her intense gaze could muster, anyway, before her eyes returned to their current destination.
As the two made their way to the stables, Maya made herself nice and comfortable in one of the larger ones as Lehanna handled the technical aspects, paying for Maya’s stay. She dreaded the thought of having to pay for a room of her own if the storm didn’t move on by nightfall, knowing the expenses weren’t entirely feasible at this point, but… if it was necessary, then it was a necessary evil. Though still unfamiliar to many things, lollygagging was not one of those things. With a sigh, the Halfling then lazily took a seat within the curvature that was Maya laying down, resting her back against her midsection. If one looked closely, they could see the dragoness’ breaths seemingly rocking Lehanna ever so gently.
“At least we have something to do.” Lehanna attempted to keep it positive, turning and reaching into the saddlebag that just so happened to be right beside where she sat. She slipped out one of her books she’d just purchased, leafing through the first few pages. A few lanterns had already been lit inside due to the weather front darkening the skies, which ended up working out rather nicely; it allowed for her to actually be able read among other things.
‘ Oh? ’ Maya peered outside of her stable, scanning what she could still see of the city streets absentmindedly before turning her attention back to the girl. Lehanna looked up at her and smiled.
“Mhm.” The dragoness would return the smile if she could, curling up a little more, letting her head and tail completely circle Lehanna like a nest. What appeared to be Lehanna quietly losing herself in the beginnings of whatever she was reading, unbeknownst to others, she was reading aloud to Maya within their shared state of mind, allowing her draconic companion to follow along in the story at hand.

When Basel and Cyril reached Tirion city, it was quite pleasant. As pleasant as it could be when one was about ready to puke from the flight there. Certainly one day he’d grow use to it, right? Thankfully, Basel managed to gather himself enough to make a personal delivery his mother asked him to make before wandering the streets a little. By now, there seemed to be a storm creeping up and it would be unsafe for them to travel, not that Basel was in any hurry to fly. What was one more day anyway?
‘Do your parents think I’m some sort of errand pigeon? I don’t understand why we had to come here.’
‘I thought it might be fun to explore Tirion a little. I’ve never had the chance to see it before.’ Basel eyed his dragon sharply before smiling at a few of the townsfolk who gazed in awe at Cyril. ‘Besides, I thought you liked getting attention.’
‘I suppose.’ Cyril huffed and held his head high. ‘Though these streets seem a little cramped for someone as grand as me.’
‘Come now, give them something to gawk at. I’m sure you’re the most attractive thing they’ve laid eyes on yet.’ Basel remarked, a hint of sarcasm in his head voice. Cyril spread his wings slightly and huffed again, the spikes along his spine making waves in irritation.
‘I’m no circus animal here for cheap entertainment.’ He nudged Basel forward rather roughly. Despite not wanting to make a show of himself, he most certainly did.
As they walked along, there were a few children that that ran about, stopping in their tracks at the sight and pointed before muttering that this was a lucky day indeed. A lucky day because they’ve seen two dragons. Their excited bursts of laughter and energy caused Basel to smile and wave at the small group.
“Excuse me, did you say you’ve seen another dragon here?” He was curious if he might know them. “Do you know where they might have gone?”
When the children mentioned a general direction after describing the dragon as blue with a rider with short black hair, his interest was instantly piqued. Could that be? He thanked the children and went on his quest to find the two, Cyril complaining all along the way. At some point they passed a stable meant for dragons when the clouds broke causing them to back track. Basel talked to the owner, asking if they had an opening when the woman mentioned there being one other there. At the bit of information, Basel promptly paid for Cyril’s stay before heading in.
‘If only this place wasn’t so disgusting. Better than being out in the rain.’
‘It would be a shame to have to find my own room for the night…’
‘I’d prefer you don’t sleep in the same vicinity as me, alas one can’t help circumstances. You’re sleeping in the corner.’
‘Fine.’
Once they reached the stall meant for them both, Cyril grimaced at how ‘low standard’ it was before letting himself in. He curled himself and nuzzled into himself, heaving a great sigh, his gaze never leaving his rider. Meanwhile, Basel stood in one of the corners nearest the exit and realized that it would be quite the tight fit. He shrugged before scooching out of the stall so that he could wander around a little in the small enclosure, stopping in his tracks when he spotted familiar faces. They seemed nice and cozy as the girl had her nose buried in a book.
“Hey! Fancy that. I wasn’t expecting to run into a fellow rider.”

At the sound of an uncanny voice, one that reminded her ever so faintly of the strange marriage between screaming and bagel, Lehanna had her attention divided from the pages of her book. She looked over, following Maya’s gaze curiously before spotting a familiar face softly lit by the lantern light just outside of their stable.
“Hey!” She extended a typical Lehanna-style “hey” greeting to who she now realized was in fact her screaming man friend. That made for an interesting surprise; fancy that indeed.
“Were you caught by the storm as well?

“Ah, yes. It certainly rolled in quickly.” He responded to her in a rather cherry way. “As soon as I caught wind that another rider was here, I had to see for myself...er..” Did he just admit to being a bit of a stalker? That’s not what he meant! Basel cleared his throat, suddenly a little uncomfortable.
“I...simply for curiosity's sake, of course.” He laughed at himself, bowing his head slightly in shame, those beautiful golden locks of his partially falling over half of his face. His gaze then wandered elsewhere as he absently began running his fingers across one of the stable posts. The rough grain of the wood set the tips of his fingers on roads of their own and it oddly calmed him. Of course, this was a terrible idea as he soon retracted his hand at feeling the sharp pain of a splinter. With a soft tick of his tongue and a sigh, he looked over the pad of his thumb, his brows furrowing slightly as he searched for the little bugger. As soon as he located it, he attempted at picking it out, but failed miserably. Seems it was too small or simply too delicate of a procedure for his slightly clumsy fingers to handle.
“Hm.” He looked back up to the woman and shrugged. “So, I see you were nose deep in a book before I graciously interrupted you. Seems my curiosity begs me to ask, is it any good?”

It would seem the girl thought little to nothing of the man having admitted to seeking her out in a low key stalker sort of fashion, being none the wiser to such antics. If anything, it puzzled her, watching him trip over himself in that way he usually seemed to. He was an interesting one. She kept quiet as he continued fumbling about for another moment or two.
“If you put some honey on that, it’ll help get it out.” She stated casually, finally, her eyes having found their way back to the book in her hands. “And disinfect the wound.”
Her tone carried with it the assurance of one who had plenty of experience to back the words; heaven knows she’d only managed to find millions of splinters over the course of her life, having been no stranger to working with wood in all sorts of shapes and forms. If you know what I mean. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) This didn’t answer the question concerning if what she was reading was any good, though… was it any good? She’d only managed to read the first few pages and couldn’t say for sure yet and she wasn’t one to judge a book by its cover, of course - or the first few pages.
“It might be.” It was a simple answer, but honest. Her eyes briefly cut over to the saddle bag still placed at her side before she allowed for them to return to the man.
“I actually have more books if you’d like to borrow one.”

“Honey, you say?” He looked his finger over some more with an inquisitive expression. “You don’t happen to have any on you right now, do you?” His gaze wandered back to the beautiful woman laying in the hay. When she responded to his previous question offering that he could have a peek at any of the other books she had on her, he noticeably hesitated.
“Ah, well…” He rubbed his chin with his other hand so as to not irritate the splinter. “I’m not the best at reading books. I know enough to understand simple letters, but anything beyond that is a challenge.” Basel bowed his head slightly, feeling ashamed of his lack in reading skills. He wasn’t sure why he felt to embarrassed seeing how it wasn’t uncommon for most people to be illiterate, but maybe it was because this lovely lady could read with ease. He was suddenly made aware of how lacking he was in this particular field.

Did she have any honey with her? Lehanna wasn't always certain of what she packed and unpacked anymore after this business with the Keepers had begun; she did so much of it that she lost track at times. Her brow furrowed with some small measure of curiosity as she set her book to the side, turned and started digging through some of the bags available to her on this side of the Maya couch. Thankfully, she knew one of these bags was dedicated to medical supplies; surely, there'd be something in there that could help... Turns out she didn't have any honey itself, but she had a salve that had some honey in it with various plant materials along with some bandages. She had used both to help with Maya's tail after the incident with the Wyrms. That would do well enough, perhaps.
“Vinegar also helps.” Lehanna added, taking out the salve and bandages from the bag. She sat up, now cross legged as she took a moment to open up the jar of salve to see how much was left. “Would you like to sit here?” She then asked, looking back over at the man as she patted a spot of the hay-covered floor next to her. Maya looked over for a second with a curious and ever so slightly suspicious stare before deciding to let things be for now.
Ah, that's right. Sometimes, she easily forgot that most people actually couldn't read quite as well or as much as she could. The man seemed so ashamed, though. She wasn't quite sure why; he didn't really have anything to be ashamed of.
“I could help you read.” She proposed simply.

Basel curiously watched as she rummaged through her bag. “Oh? Honey and vinegar. I’ll have to remember these neat tricks for the future.”
When she asked him if he’d like to sit next to her, patting the hay right nearby, he shot a glance immediately to Maya. She seemed fine with it so he slowly approached, sitting down in the designated spot his fellow rider picked out for him. Basel held out his hand, thumb outstretched, before he sighed lightly. Again he found himself rather close to her and of course his mind began to hyperactivity notice every little action she took in assisting him.
When she stated that she could help him read, an excitedly warm smile appeared on his face. “Please! If it’s not too much trouble, I’d love to learn from you.” Basel cleared his throat, hoping he hadn’t become too excited about it all, and lowered his voice slightly.
“Thank you.”

The Maya couch maintained some small measure of scrutiny as the man took a seat beside her rider, even if she held no objections. Lehanna, on the other hand, seemed to not have any concerns as she took hold of his hand and assessed the splinter situation in his thumb. Didn’t seem too bad, which boded well for the success of her medical advice. She took some of the salve, dabbing it over the splinter before she took a very small portion of bandaging and wrapped it around his thumb.
“Give it a few hours or sleep on it. It should be easier to get out then.” Lehanna stated with assurance. When she looked up and found quite the dazzling smile painting the man’s lips, she couldn’t help but to return one of a smaller fashion herself. That was an awfully big smile. She suddenly felt a little odd, a good sort of odd; it felt… warm and soft, in a way. She was unsure of having seen someone smile so brightly for quite some time, particularly at her/for her.
“Y-you’re welcome.” Was something caught in her throat? It was like some unknown force threatened her vocal chords when she answered. That was weird. She turned away, trying to hide her uncertainty as she began digging through one of the saddle bags on their side again, her digging much less aimless this time as she immediately withdrew some books. Much like she had with the fishing thing, she figured she’d let the man make the choices again.
“Which one would you like to read?” She laid them all out before them so he could have a good look at the covers. Time and time again, it’s been said to never to judge a book by its cover, but really, they were only deciding on one versus judging one, right?
There were five books to choose from…
One had an intricate looking flower on the cover resembling a lotus and the silhouette of a woman.
Another one bore what appeared to be a fearsome looking lion with a small white fawn.
There was a third with a shield and a sword. The title was very large and started with a Z. And totally wasn’t some spin off of some copyrighted Nintendo title or anything.
The other two seemed to only have titles and no notable designs.
She would allow her friend the chance to try to read them himself if he could, otherwise, she was ready to read them off to him if necessary.

At her touch, butterflies swarmed within his stomach and he wasn’t quite sure as to why. She was simply taking care of the splinter in his thumb. Nothing serious in the slightest! Why was he nervous? At her instructions after having wrapped a small bandage over his thumb, he looked it over with a smile.
Her small stumble with her word when she accepted his gratitude did seem a little odd, however there was no reason that is was just her needing a bit of water or something. In the end, Basel chose not to think too much about it and carried on to trying to decide which book to try and read. There were more choices than he had expected and his brow furrowed, looking them over curiously. They all carried with them a sense of mystery but the one with the shield and sword truly made him think of himself. Though, if he went with that one, it would simply be an obvious choice.
“How about this one?” He pointed to the book with merely a title and no illustration to help reveal anything about it. The black cloth binding with scripted golden letters made him all the more curious. He rang his fingers over the letters for a moment before opening the cover.

“That one?” Lehanna’s head teetered over to one side some small measure with some intrigue as she studied his choice, reaching out and pulling it over towards her to have a better look.
“Heh. This one sounded interesting.” Her small comment was accompanied by a smile that seemed to brighten as she held the book up in her hands. “‘The Wizard’s Wardrobe.’” She then turned to have a look at the back, reminding herself of what she had read over earlier in the synopsis. “From what I can tell, it’s basically about this kid who finds this abandoned shack with an old wardrobe full of clothes that have these magical properties… like, a shirt that allows her to walk on water or a dress that turns her into a canary.”
Lehanna probably spoke more words in that one instance than she had the entire time she’d been a part of the Keepers. That was certainly one way to summarize a book too; the girl was briefly led to wonder what it would actually be like to be a canary and how one would activate said magical power or remove the dress in canary form after such a thing was said. So many little things to ponder. It was a slightly awkward pause before tuning in to reality again.
“What do you think?” She inquired, redirecting her attention back over to her friend as she did so.

“I think that this sounds like a fun read.” Basel grinned, entertained by the thought of simply putting on outfits in order to magically do different things. “I’m curious as to what sort of problems this kid runs into after finding this wardrobe full of magical clothes.”
While his friend had been summing things up about the book, Basel found himself scooching in closer to have a better look. Careful not to further injure his thumb, he leaned back on his hands in a more relaxed position, eyes drifting to look at her a little more closely.
“Shall we?” He waited for her to open the book for them to look over the pages together. They certainly had to practically lean into each other and Basel couldn’t help be still feel rather odd. Of course, he ignored this and focused on the task of learning how to improve his reading instead. He ran his fingers along the pages slowly, keeping track of the words as he read them out loud. A few times getting caught on larger words, to which he’d ask questions on what they meant.
So far, the story painted this young girl with a rather bleak life situation, lacking in wonder and merely filled with tragic realities. The death of her beloved father, having to move away from her friends, and facing the confusion of growing up. It was certainly a tale personable to many out in the world.

Truly a dreary start to a tale; alas, not every story had a happy ending - or beginning, in this case. Lehanna let out a soft sigh, seemingly exhaling the feelings these pages were giving her.
There was a storm brewing in this story as it continued, rain crashing down seemingly with the weight of the world that day for this young girl. It had been a rough day, this day. She had encountered many rough days, but this day in particular, one could live without. Forced to take shelter from the rain, the girl found herself trapped under the awning of an old house off the beaten path - literally straying a short distance from the path she normally walked to and from school. She wondered to herself if it really mattered whether or not she made it back home, given the circumstances she faced. Perhaps she would be better off lost than found?
Almost thematically, a crack of thunder rung overhead. It seemed the storm was more officially settling in here as well. The wind had been picking up, sweeping through the stables and causing a chill. Lehanna did her best not to shiver, but failed as a small tremor took hold.
“Hold on.” Lehanna commented, hitting the pause button on story time. She turned and had a look in her saddle bags again - seemed what she was looking for was on the opposite side this time, sadly. She let her friend keep hold of the book as she excused herself for a moment. Though given an awkward break, she was glad she found what she had in mind, at least! Returning to her seat with a small blanket, she wrapped it around her shoulders, huddling back up to Maya and letting the warmth of her dragon body assist. As she took up the book again, ready to dive back in, she couldn’t help but to cut her eyes over to her friend. “Are you cold?”
She wriggled a bit, pulling out as much extra as she could afford from her blanket. Lehanna didn’t really have much to offer, but it was better than offering nothing in her book! Pun intended a little bit there. She offered the excess for her friend to accept or decline.

Basel had been deeply vested in the story by now, trying to follow along as she read, mouthing the words slightly as the story transpired. It was then that the storm reminded them of its presence and Lehanna got up briefly to retrieve a blanket. She almost seemed as if she were going to continue when she asked him if he was cold. The blanket didn’t look large enough for the both of them, so he was hesitant to take her up on the offer, but the blanket looked so nice and warm.
“Just a bit.” Basel answered with a blushy smile, scooching even closer as he took a bit of the blanket. He remained shoulder to shoulder with her, but the blanket barely hung on. “Ah...may I?” He awkwardly asked before moving his closest arm around her waist a bit. Basel then cleared his throat, situating the book back between them so that they could continue.
As followed, the girl in the story was stuck in the storm and soon came to realize the old house’s awning she took shelter at, appeared to be empty. The girl, despite her conscience telling her not to, decided to explore the house while it rained outside. The door creaked open and as soon as she stepped through the entrance, she was met with dust and cobwebs. The mildew scent heavy in the air, parts of the house in complete ruin and allowing water in. Despite her occasional calls of greeting, she was met with nothing but the pitter patter against glass, and creaks underfoot. The stairs looked rather unsafe to climb, but her curiosity got the best of her.
Another clap of thunder could be heard over Lehanna and Basel’s head, bringing golden boy out of the fantasy world. He was grateful they both had a place to stay, dry and safe from the storm. Basel smiled absently as he looked up to the ceiling, his mind obviously on something else for the moment.
“Good thing we decided to stay here.”

To be honest, given how far the amount of blanket Lehanna tried to spare actually went, she almost felt a bit like a fool for even having offered. Falling just short of offering to give most of it to him instead, however, her screaming bagel friend managed to find a better way of making ends meet. “Life finds a way.” — Jeff Goldblum
The girl herself didn't seem to mind the close proximity all that much; it felt a little odd, sure, being this close to another humanoid sort. She’d never been this close to somebody else other than her old man… it actually felt kind of nice. Significantly warmer, if anything; though, that was the beauty of body heat a.k.a natural radiators, right?
However, a large, scrutinizing dragon eye slipped open soon after Lehanna and her friend cozied up and re-immersed themselves in their little book, sneaking another peek at the two. It told a very different story. Ohoho, there was a small blip on Mama Maya’s mom radar. The man better not make any sudden moves, especially any moves on her daughter rider… harmful or otherwise!
As the thunder rung overhead once again, it served to pull her friend’s attention away from the book. Lehanna peeped over at him briefly before following his gaze up to the ceiling of the stables. Aside from seeing some lantern light flicker under the weight of whatever wind managed to sweep in, she wasn’t… entirely sure what he was looking at, if anything. She nodded along with her friend’s statement, regardless.
“Beats hiding under a tree.” She added, a hint of a smile claiming her lips in unison. “If you could even find a good tree.”
Once again, one could more or less tell Lehanna likely answered with some level of experience backing her words.
