Dragon's Keep is a semi-lit/literate roleplay held on Discord.
It takes inspiration from fantasy and is influenced by mythology from around the world as well as our own minds.
Our current story takes place in Azielan, an eastern-influenced continent.
Characters in the roleplay are in a guild with the aim of protecting and helping others.
* Please note that this forum is only meant to be supplemental to the Discord server.
Main events and roleplay will still take place on the server. This is only here to help with further character interaction and development for those who may care for such a thing.
It can be quite a trial to have certain interactions on a server without them getting lost in the fray due to the time concerns. This forum was made as a way to work around that! 😊
--/--/2019 ✨ The Azielan update is here! ✨ Like the new design? The forums recieved a big makeover! There is also a new "Roleplay" category featuring both Nysa and Azielan. TIMELINE: A day after welcoming the new recruits!
---------
One this absolutely happy blooming day, Onel skipped along the water's edge in pure delight. Why she was so energetic this day you ask? Ah, it was probably due to having an absolute blast the night before with old and new friends. Sure, she probably drank way too much and she had a headache, but that wasn't going to stop her from feeling absolutely spectacular!
"Aaa!" Onel almost rolled her ankle and fell into the water. Instead, she merely got her foot soaked and laughed at herself. Maybe she shouldn't be doing this right now? Her balance wasn't the best, after all.
That said, she decided now was the time to go check on her son! He seemingly disappeared yesterday after having sent the guild member out on their quest and wondered what he was up to. Possibly napping? Watermelon girl arrived at Aias' place of residence and peeked barged in through the door. "AAAAAIIIIAAAAS!!! SON! RISE AND SHINE!" Ah yes, she wasn't sure if he was sleeping so why not greet him with a 'good morning' despite it being a little after noon?
Yesterday's events are more or less a blur to Aias at this point as he lay snuggled up within the ubiquitous amount of blankets wrapped tightly around him, his place of contemplation obviously being his child-sized bed that is unfortunately not racecar shaped. Shame. Struggling to recall his memories, Aias's thoughts inevitably begin to wander in the direction of him possibly being a dementia patient, or perhaps he suffered a head injury during the quest and was knocked out of commission for the rest of the day? Absentmindedly, he strokes the side of his head and feels no such injury. Maybe he was poisoned? Is he even alive right now?! Where is he?!??!
The sunlight streaming in through his poorly curtained window only serves to remind the elf that it's morning, and that he might have to actually get up and act like a real human person for once, but for now...he tosses and turns in his cocoon before laying down once more, now having perfectly constructed a sort of blanket-cave with only a tiny hole for air to pass through the top. Hey, is it getting stuffy in here, or is it just him? No matter, nothing matters as his eyes flutter shut once more, hopefully to get some more shut eye...or maybe brain death due to the lack of oxygen leaking into the blanket-cave...
Somebody else has other plans.
His poor little door is not built to handle Onel's dramatic opening, however it sadly does not go flying off the hinges. Aias, on the other hand, does go flying off the hinges. The woman's sudden rambunctious screaming startles him in such a way that he begins thrashing about in panic, possibly worried that he's about to be murdered or whatever people do when they suddenly barge in through the door, but this thrashing about turns a little too floppy and the next thing Aias sees when he peels open his eyes is the floor. Somehow, by some miracle, his blankets seem to remain tethered to the bed, meaning that his fall isn't a hard one, but rather an embarassing one, as his little blanket-cave slowly unrolls himself onto the ground instead of dumping him there like a corpse into a mass grave.
Aias lay flat on his back on the floor, his emerald eyes a tad bit glossy as he stares blankly at the ceiling. Brain rebooting...3 ..2...1...
"GO AWAYYYY!" 0. He snaps, sitting up so fast his spine may as well snap due to the G-forces created by the sharp turn, however, as soon as his eyes finally register that it's Onel at the door, and not a murderer here to scalp him, Aias relaxes. Actually, "relaxes" is used loosely. Now he looks more embarassed than scared for his life, a red flush coloring his face as he now commits himself to avoiding eye contact.
"W-What. (the heck) do you want..." a long, long pause; where he briefly adjusts his position on the floor, "...mother."

Ah! There he was! Her beautiful boy rolling out of bed to greet her. Oopsies! Looks like he fell out actually!
"You've been sleeping far too much lately!" Onel fake scolded before laughing in the most mischievous manner possible. The fact he actually called her mother warmed her heart and a blush of pure happiness painted her cheeks. "I thought we could spend a little mother son bonding time today. Get some ice cream, bother some people maybe? What do you say?"
She looked him over, leaning down to pick him up off the floor and cradle him in her arms. He was most certainly too big for this, but Onel didn't care. It was just way too dang amusing to treat someone like this, especially someone as grumpy as Aias. "You'll have to get dressed though. Can't having you walking around in your pajamas!" She finally set him back on the edge of the bed and started rummaging through his clothes to find the perfect outfit. How on earth did Onel become a mother? Why was she so adamant in taking up the role anyway?
Aias's response to Onel's ruthless scolding is simply a curt huff of acknowledgement, followed then by an overdramatic sigh as the boy suddenly lowers himself to lay back down on the floor. From here, he doesn't bother sitting back up to even attempt to make any sort of eye contact with his mother; instead, he peers up at her from his rather awkward place on the blanket-padded ground and probably looks like a maniac in the process. His sleeping habits are none of Onel's concern! If anything, more of his time is spent having mental crises under the blankets rather than actually being asleep.
"Mother son bonding..." the elf absently repeats, now directing the attention of his gaze to the ceiling. The mention of ice cream, however, perks up his ears a bit as Aias now moves to prop himself up, elbows first. "I-Ice cream?"
Of course the part about the sweets instantly ropes him in; the bothering people aspect is just the cherry on top. In fact, he looks almost too excited, instead putting on a halfhearted pout to mask his hopeful look.
"I-I mean...yeah, I-I guessSSS-" Aias's very smart words are sadly cut off as Onel suddenly picks him up like she's some sort of pro-wrestler about to snap him in half. Or maybe...not like that, actually. That surely doesn't stop the tiny elf from thrashing about weakly in the arms of his mother, before giving up entirely and looking longingly at his bed, "Lemme doooown, woman."
That is a command.
"I don't have to get dressed...my clothes are fine >:(" his clothes are not fine, in fact, they only serve to make him appear even more childish than he already is. Little stick figure dragons mark the fabric, resembling a very familiar figure...that can and will not be named. After being set down on the bed again, Aias relaxes for a moment, only to tense up once more as Onel begins to dig through his Men's Clothes stash. His secrets are in there! Bad Onel!
He springs up off the bed and quickly slinks over to where his mother continues to invade his privacy, a worried look on his face as squints in an attempt to assess the damages.
"What are you doing!!" Aias nags at Onel's side, tugging at her shirt and standing on his tip toes in order to deliver her the best glare he possibly can, "I can find my own clothes >:(("
Probably not a good idea. Onel please clothe your son before he does something awful.

Onel was glad to know that Aias seemed at least a little excited about the prospects of getting some ice cream. With how hot it was these days, she was looking forward to any ways to cool off in this muggy weather. Either way, she couldn't help but find her son's need to hide his emotions quite cute. He thought he did so well, but she knew better. "Good! Ice cream it is." She confirmed.
Once she started to rummage through his clothes, her son seemed quite adamant she stop looking through his things. "You want to go around wearing your pajamas?" She asked, giving him a motherly stern look before replacing it with a sickly sweet smile. "You have something to hide or something? Should mommy be concerned?" She purred, sifting through his clothes more quickly. It was then that she came across something pink and slightly glittery. "Oh?"
She pulled out a rather cute little outfit buried at the very bottom of one of her son's drawers. She wouldn't be surprised if he had completely forgotten it existed seeing how it was a bit high for him to reach. "I think you should wear this today." She held up a pink skirt with a white wrap around top. It even had a matching bow. "You could be my daughter for the day!"
Onel had been stifling a laugh this entire time but she couldn't hold back any longer. "HAHAHAHAHA!! WHY DO YOU HAVE THIS??" She teared up as she slapped her thigh before holding up the outfit to Aias' body. "Have you worn it before?" She asked more seriously this time.
"Er...my..." Aias performs a rather expertly executed Double Take as he glances down at his unfortunate clothing, brows furrowing as he snipes back at Onel with a more flustered tone of voice, "W-Whatever! Just let me look for my own things!"
Either the boy is grasping desperately at any straws that can show he can be independent for once in his miserable life, or he has something fishy to hide. Let's be honest; it's most likely the latter.
"N-No, I don't have anything!" His tone turns sheepish for a bit as his nagging on Onel's shirt sleeve ceases momentarily, "It's just...embarassing."
The following events occur so quickly that Aias has reason to believe that none of it really happened, however his mother's noise of curiosity pulls the tiny elf back into the horrible, heart wrenching reality of the situation. The slip of hot pink and glitter hits Aias with so much force that he completely abandons his post at Onel's side and takes a step back, eyes widening even more than the drawer that was just violated. You can actually hear the gears in his head turning loudly as his walnut-sized child brain struggles to register what just happened, and the "click" as everything finally comes together is just as audible.
"AaaaaAAAAAAAA!!! PPPPUT THAT AWAAYYY!!!" The small boy immediately makes an attempt to snatch it out of Onel's hands, however his frantic movements, along with his height, means that his attempts prove to be ultimately futile. In just a matter of seconds, it seems that his face has turned a color darker than the hot pink of the skirt, and the slightest hint of a spark crackles near the air around him.
He thought-
"NO! NO! I am NOT wearing that!" Aias stands his ground firmly, and- oh dear, he looks like he's about to cry, "I-I-I, uuhhh-"
When it comes to the topic of whether or not he's worn it before, the elf crosses his arms and shyly averts his gaze.
"T-That's none of your business..." a slight pause, "E-Er...it was a gift, okay?"
And he had meant to throw it out, but it seems that he forgot. Now his reputation is tarnished forever. How could you, Onel.

"Embarrassing hm?" Onel chuckles lightly before finding the hot pink glittery skirt with complimentary to and bow from the drawer.
Now, with Aias' reaction to her finding out his little secret, she merely kept the treasured outfit out of reach when he attempted to snatch it away. She couldn't help but have quite the sadistic amused grin plastered on her lips while she did this. Her son's feeble attempts and slight shocking aura that sparked the air with new life made things even more exciting than she could have imagined. Such a glorious idea to have mother son bonding time!
"A gift?" Her features softened as she set the clothes down on top of the dresser, crouching down to be more at the boy's level. "Mommy will love you no matter what, you know." She spoke in a soothing tone. "You don't have to wear it if you don't want to, but I wouldn't mind seeing you dress up for this special day." She took a moment to study his reaction before straightening out. "Here, I'll find a new outfit if it'll make you feel better?"
At that, she rummaged through the drawers more, picking out something more boyish but still had a touch of fancy. After all, she truly wanted to prance around the city and show off how amazing her son is.
"V-Very embarassing!!" you can practically see the ferocity brewing behind those wide emerald eyes of his as Onel persists in her quest to dig through his drawer, his attempts growing even more desperate as he proceeds to hop up and down to snatch at the glittery pink mess of an outfit. Sadly, Onel holds the upper ground, having actually reached a state of adulthood before bonding, and holding the benefit of height because of it. If Aias had some mad parkour skills, he'd be scaling his drawer like a tree and pouncing on Onel from above, but alas...
The small boy takes note of his mother's evil grin and then proceeds to stop making a fool of himself, as in finally planting his feet firmly on the ground instead of dancing around like embers are burning at his feet.
"You...you are EVIL! A WITCH!!" it's hard to tell if he's being genuine at this point or not, but the exaggerated insults give away any hope he had of being menacing in the slightest, "I-I see that smile! I'm not blind!"
Now, if he didn't like Onel, his whole house-hut would probably be burning down right now, but here we are. Unscathed. Well, except for Aias's dignity.
As Onel bends down to get on his level, the elf first feels the need to get offended, but that need is fortunately washed away by the momma's lovey dovey cooing. Aias averts his eyes once again, face flushing pink, before mumbling something completely incoherent that he hopes to Enewei that Onel doesn't hear. Finally, he relents, but makes sure to dramatically pout while doing so.
"F-Fine. Give it to me, mmmmm...." Aias hums, trying to find a word that won't completely annihilate his heart, "...mmmommm???"
"Just stop digging through my things!!!" That pink glittery outfit is certainly not the last embarassing thing Aias has tucked in his drawer, but Onel doesn't need to know that. Instead, he pounds his small child fists against momma's back in a fruitless effort to get her to stop. Give him the outfit!!! Stop any further shaming!! He can't reach the top by himself!!
It takes a minute for him to realize something else, and it's too late for him to cease the sputtering that follows.
"A-A-And before you ask, I can get dressed by myself! Hand it to me and go awaaAAaaa aa aY!!"

Aias doing parkour would be quite the sight! Too bad dad (Nikoli) hasn't taught him such things yet.
Onel couldn't help but laugh cheerily at being called evil and a witch. Never had she claimed to be good, so these were simply compliments. In the end, she found it highly amusing being called these things by her son, even if he didn't quite mean them. Or did he? "Yes, yes." She nonchalantly waved her hand int he air. "But I'm your mother, and you love me nonetheless." She mused knowing very well that he could have shocked her to death by now but didn't.
The way the 'young' boy became embarrassed at her cooing was the best thing on the planet. It only reminded her of how Rainn would get all flustered at the slightest bit of affection and it was interesting how so many people were uncomfortable with such things. Though, when her son called her mom, he heart seemingly melted. "Of course~" She handed him the pink outfit, chuckling at he remarks.
"I'm sure I'll find more embarrassing later." She stuck her tongue out in a playful manner as she stuffed the secondary outfit back into the drawer and closed it. With a frown, she stepped out of his room, shutting the door behind her. "Don't take too long! If you need help, mommy is right here, okayyyy?" She called out, rocking back and forth on her heels.
