Dragon's Keep is a semi-lit/literate roleplay held on Discord.
It takes inspiration from fantasy and is influenced by mythology from around the world as well as our own minds.
Our current story takes place in Azielan, an eastern-influenced continent.
Characters in the roleplay are in a guild with the aim of protecting and helping others.
* Please note that this forum is only meant to be supplemental to the Discord server.
Main events and roleplay will still take place on the server. This is only here to help with further character interaction and development for those who may care for such a thing.
It can be quite a trial to have certain interactions on a server without them getting lost in the fray due to the time concerns. This forum was made as a way to work around that! 😊
--/--/2019 ✨ The Azielan update is here! ✨ Like the new design? The forums recieved a big makeover! There is also a new "Roleplay" category featuring both Nysa and Azielan. Heck to the freaking yeah, baby! ▫ Azielan takes place in the present and is open to all generations. ▫ Nysa is currently reserved for events preceding the fifteen year time skip and accessible by first and second generations only!

It had been several days since passing through the Labyrinth.
Cyril thankfully hadn’t attempted to knock him off during the process of working together with the others and he was all the more cheerful at having survived the ordeal. On this rather pleasant day, he found himself without his dragon, wandering alone near the lake’s edge. The sun glinted off the water’s surface like glass shattering on a cobble stone floor. Clouds lazily drifted in perfect blue satin.
He sighed, tucking some of his hair behind his ear, kicking a stone into the rippling mirror at his feet. Basel couldn’t help but think about how embarrassing it was for his comrades to see him in such a pitiful state. The way he drew all of their attention made him flush red, a frown tugging at his lips. “Way to make a fool out of yourself.” He muttered to himself before crouching down to dip his fingers in the lake. What started off as a pleasant day was quickly turning sour. Even when he wasn’t around Cyril the dragon’s insults plagued his mind.
Basel leaned back, roughly plopping down on a larger stone before he began tugging off his boots and socks rather angrily. He tossed them aside, perhaps he’d regret that later but he didn’t care now. All he wanted was to enjoy this day a least a little bit, so he practically shoved his feet into the water to remind himself of where he was. It felt nice, it was beautiful, just enjoy it.
Thankfully today Basel was much less formal, only wearing a simple light blue shirt, sleeves rolled up to the elbows, and dark colored pants cropped mid calf. Not having his armor certainly took a weight off of him as he leaned back slightly, propping himself up with his hands as he did so. His eyes closed as he listened to the slight breeze that passed through the surrounding trees, several birds could be heard somewhere in the leaves.

It was such a pleasant afternoon; one that begged to have visitors out in the open versus indoors. Hardly one to sit still as it was, it could only be assumed that Lehanna practically shot out the door that day as soon as she could afford to. She wasn’t one to wear many layers of clothing as it was, pardoning the iconic articles she often had fastened around her waist with a belt, but she did sport less than she would normally. She wore an old sleeveless shirt, tan in color and decorated with a simple floral design of sorts; it hardly surpassed her rib cage in length. The top hung loosely just as her leggings did, hugging her hips and tapering out to a somewhat baggy extent at her knees. One could tell most of her garb was that of a peasant and little more, this outfit bearing no exception.
‘ What a lovely day. ’ The dragoness softly drew attention to the obvious, exhibiting little purpose in her flight and simply letting the air currents do as they would. It almost looked as if she was hovering in the air for a moment and little more. This was the most relaxed she’d been since they’d gotten here, Lehanna was sure. The girl couldn’t help but to be made to smile in the spirit of such a notion. She took a moment to lean back and stretch out her arms leisurely, taking in the world around them as she did. She let out a small hum as her gaze fell upon something of interest.
“Hey, are you hungry?” ‘ I could eat, I suppose. ’ “I wonder if there are any fish in there.” Lehanna then pointed out a large lake in the distance. It was certainly large enough to hold plenty of fish in it, really; why wouldn’t it? The dragoness didn’t spare a word for a few moments, studying the body of water in thought.
‘ ... What if there are dragons in there? ’ “Maya.” The dragoness then chuckled lightly to herself, a snort and nod of the head pairing with the voice of her mind rather well. Lehanna snickered along, wondering to herself if many dragons had the ability to jest at themselves in such a way. All these years, she’d never realized quite how intelligent they were. It almost made her feel bad for having called her “Dragon” and nothing more for all of them. Almost.
‘ I kid. Let’s see what we can find, shall we? ’ In due time, they drifted over to the lake, the body of water becoming even larger in appearance from before as they closed in. It was then that Maya realized they weren’t the only ones there. They would be having company, so it seemed. Her eyes narrowed with suspicion as she studied “company,” hesitating and lingering in the air.
“What’s the hold up?” ‘ It’s that boy from before. ’ She stated. Lehanna looked around, her eyes finally landing curiously upon whoever it was the dragoness was making mention of.
“Oh! It’s the screaming bagel boy.” Maya then shook her head, a somewhat sympathetic look replacing the look of suspicion in her bright magenta eyes rather quickly as they cut to the side. Lehanna truly had a gift when it came to names…
“Wonder how he’s doing today?” The dragoness fell quiet once more, taking the thought of landing into careful consideration. The boy hadn’t seemed too bad, really, and it would seem that bastard of a dragon of his wasn’t anywhere in the general vicinity either. He was much less dangerous without his dragon and easy to take care of or flee from if he tried anything funny… As it was, part of her now hoped Lehanna would at least catch his name this time around and spare him of the current “screaming man” title. She held a lot of doubt in him taking pride in such a name.
With a graceful swoop that shook the leaves of a small copse of trees preceding their landing, the two then descended by the water’s edge practically right beside the man. With the unintentional speediness of their arrival, they may have accidentally spooked him.
“Hey!” Lehanna greeted him with a simple wave of the hand, quickly flinging her legs around as soon as they were unfastened and hopping down from Maya’s back.

Basel was most certainly spooked! He hadn’t been expecting any sort of company so when there was a sudden ‘whoosh’ paired with the sound of something landing quite close, he instinctively leaned away suddenly. This in turn caused him to fall off his seating area and into a bit of mud, a startled yelp escaping him. What in the -
“Hey!”
He looked up to see it was that woman from the Labyrinth and her Haewen dragon. She hopped down in a rather casual fashion after having waved at him so he offered up a smile in return.
“Hello!” He warmly greeted her back before working his way to his feet. As he stood, his hands were covered in mud so he quickly waded into the water a little ways rinsing them off and as he bent down one could see his pants, particularly his butt area, was also covered.
“Awfully pleasant day out.” He remarked after returning to shore, assuming that was why these two were out and about. Basel couldn’t help but be a little embarrassed at having fallen over earlier and was most certainly trying to pay it off as nothing happened.

Seems they spooked him indeed! Initially, Lehanna hesitated, tempted to say something about his now muddied bottom before Maya cut her off with a shake of the head. Her mouth hung open for a small measure of time before she realized nothing would be coming out. The man then continued to speak of how pleasant of a day it was.
“Yeah.” The girl answered simply, lingering over to the muddy bank. Without delay, she removed her sandals and placed them on a rock close to the one that already hosted what could only be assumed as the man’s shoes, otherwise, that’d make for an interesting start to a missing person’s report. She rolled up her baggy pant legs to the point they started looking like an oddly shaped pair of shorts before she started wading out into the water. Maya took to simply laying herself down in the grass as she watched the two interact, bearing witness to Lehanna’s wondrous socialization skills yet again.
“Are there any fish in here?” Straight to the point. That was Lehanna for you.

Upon her entering the water after having rolled up her pants, being a man, he did notice how nice her legs were. Though, he forced himself to look somewhere else as she waded in and merely stood there rather awkwardly. She certainly wasn’t one for many words but when she asked if there were fish in the lake he brightened up significantly.
“I would assume so. Wouldn’t be a lake without any.” Basel chuckled. “Do you like fishing?” It was probably a dumb question but he figured he’d ask. “I’ve actually never fished before.” And he offered that bit of information up just to see if that would be enough to possibly keep the conversation going.

“You’ve never fished before?” Her eyes had been scouting the waters intently for movement and any signs of fishy life below the surface before they returned to the man with more of an intrigued, wide eyed stare. She’d spared not a word until that line was spoken.

“Yes! I grew up in a city as a child then went right off to another for training. My father was too busy to take me as a kid so I’ve never really had the opportunity.” Basel gave a bit of a shrug a light blush appearing on his face. Now that he wasn’t absolutely terrified he could finally truly appreciate her features. Her beauty was certainly wild and he found himself liking that quite a bit.
“Maybe, you could teach me?” He attempted to distract his thoughts.

A soft, confirming “huh” followed after the man told a small tale of his childhood and having grown up accustomed to city life. City life; that was something Lehanna certainly didn’t know a single thing about. At the inquisition of her possibly teaching him something about fishing, though…
“Sure.” Lehanna had intended to fish this lake in a less traditional fashion, but given that the man had never experienced the good old fashioned kind, she figured she would at least allow him the chance to have the first time experience in all its simplistic charm. With the game plan changed, she began wading back to the bank.
“You’ll need a fishing pole and some bait.” She stated, taking a seat on one of the rocks lining the shore. She allowed the water to free the mud from the soles of her feet before she withdrew them, giving them a bit of a goofy little shake much like a cat with wet paws and allowed for them to dry.
“I have my own gear back at my room. You’re welcome to use it.” She continued, finally glancing back over at the man. “Otherwise, we’ll have to go into town and buy some things.”

“Perfect!” Basel was all too excited to jump right too it until she mentioned needing a fishing pole. He definitely didn’t have one and his hopes were slightly dashed when she mentioned having one back in her room.
“If I could use yours, that would be great.” He asked sheepishly. Basel wasn’t quite sure if he wanted to commit to buying a fishing pole for himself just yet. At that moment, as he was walking to shore, he stepped on a rather sharp rock and fell back into the water, soaking himself entirely.
“Ow…” His face screwed up into one of pain. How embarrassing!

“We’ll do that, then.” She answered simply, as always.
It was then, suddenly, that the man let out a bit of a whimper and fell back into the water; Lehanna had had a front row seat to it all, having been seated on a rock and waiting for her feet and legs to dry. She stared wide eyed for a moment… soon, she found a small smile cracking her lips. She then snickered, lifting herself from her seat and wading back into the water. As she made her approach, she offered out a hand for him to take with a small “here.”

Basel blushed profusely and tried to laugh it off. Normally he wasn’t this clumsy but it seemed today just simply wasn’t his day. Though, the water did feel pretty pleasant in this weather so he wasn’t complaining too much. Here’s to hoping he didn’t injure his foot too much. At that, he reached up and took her hand firmly. “Thank you.”

As Lehanna took his hand and tried helping him, it was then that she realized how heavy another human being actually was! Since when was another person so heavy?! She let out a small grunt as she tried putting more of her back into it, feeling the mud begin to slide beneath her feet threatening her stability. A few stumbling steps allowed for her to rebalance herself. The man hadn’t even budged an inch - if he had, he had simply fallen back into his previous placement after she’d stopped exerting herself. Lehanna suddenly felt rather inadequate, a light blush meeting her cheeks. She cleared her throat and hung her head shamefully.
“Sorry, um…” She confessed softly before she made another attempt. I mean, he could make some effort to help her, but it seemed like he wasn’t making any at all. It felt that way, anyway… was she really that weak? She was like a small child trying to lift a horse up, here.

It seemed he was too heavy for her to help up even though he truly was trying to help. If Cyril had been there he would have laughed hysterically at the sight. “Oh no, that’s quite alright!” He quickly replied, trying to diffuse her embarrassment now painting her cheeks before better situating his feet underneath himself at her second attempt.
This time he managed to begin to stand but the muddy bottom most certainly wasn’t helping in letting him go just yet. As he shoved his hand underneath himself pushing up, he was finally back up on his feet… for a moment. Turns out mud under water can be a rather tricky thing and as he held onto Lehanna, he slipped back once more. With a big splash he was even more soaked than before, his hair now plastered to his face dripping profusely.
“My deepest apologies. It seems the lake won’t let me go.” He looked to the woman, offering up a sheepish grin before wiping away the wet hair from his face.

This time, Lehanna was taken along for the ride, almost practically having her top torn off of her in the process. It was like she had been taken under by a shark from the weight of him!
“Why are you so heavy?” She asked bluntly, lifting herself from the shallows after having practically face planted into the man. The two sat like dullards in the water, now. She shook her dark wet bangs out of her face, water flicking off of them in the process before she brought a hand up to assist in moving them out of her face; she couldn’t see a thing for a few moments.
“I didn’t realize men were so heavy!” Meanwhile, Maya could be seen shaking her head as she watched the two; the pleasant nature of the sunshine on her scales and sound of the gentle breeze rustling through the leaves had been threatening to lull her to sleep before these two splashing about snapped her out of it. The dragoness’ smile was a hard smile to perceive, but it was there to the discerning eye.

Basel burst out laughing when she called him heavy. He had forgotten that elves and halflings weren’t as strong as humans where so he probably seemed even heavier than normal. “Well, seems I need to lay off the sweets!” He joked, watching as she moved her wet hair out of her face. There was a moment as she was doing this that he began to notice how beautiful she was. Those green eyes were certainly enough to tug at his curiosity on who she really was. It was at this point, however, that he figured he should probably stop staring at her.
“Ah, here…” Basel turned more to his side and managed to stand back up, this time he making sure his footing was more stable without sharp rocks. “Let me help you up.” He chuckled at the reverse situation as he held out his hand for her to take.
